Major Electric Vehicle start-up, Zypp, has announced its partnership with Zepto, an ecommerce company, to help it in last mile deliveries. The partnership is said to be started with 1500 e-vehicles (two-wheelers) and will help Zepto to expand its footprints from Delhi-NCR to Bengaluru and Mumbai in upcoming four months.
Zepto currently operates 50 Zepto hubs in the Delhi NCR and plans to raise the number of partners by ten times in next one year. The company also intends to double its vehicle fleet and expand across the country. It operates a fleet of more than five thousand e-scooters and expects to deploy over 1.5 lakh scooters by 2023. To execute deliveries, the company has collaborated with industry giants such as Zomato, Swiggy, Big Basket, Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, PharmEasy, Jio Mart, Delhivery, and Spencers during the last five years.
Akash Gupta, Co-Founder and CEO of Zypp, said that speedy delivery and sustainability is the future of commerce. Partnership of Zepto with Zypp will help the community while contributing in the upcoming revolution in the industry. He also mentioned that this partnership will grow at a tremendous speed experiencing multi-folds growth in terms of both, network on fleet and the number of deliveries done per day.
The step will help the company to attain its goal of transitioning the last-mile logistics in the country completely electric by partnering with food delivery companies and other types commerce-related platforms and avenues.
