- JBM Vision for a Greener Future in EV and E-Mobility Ecosystems: Arun Kapoor
Arun Kapoor, CEO and Business Unit Head of JBM Green Energy Systems, shared his insights on the company's progress in the EV and e-mobility sector and its future plans. JBM is not only revolutionising the EV space in India but also globally through green technology and automated solutions.
JBM approach is not limited to vehicle manufacturing but focuses on creating a complete ecosystem, which includes charging systems, e-mobility platforms, and e-energy. The company's goal is to expand its products and services not only in India but also internationally. Developing safe, long-lasting battery systems that can be used across different geographies and climates is one of JBM's priorities. In addition, the company is working on making its vehicles safer, more connected, and predictable by using modern technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Digital Twin, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
How is JBM progressing in the EV and e-mobility space, and what is the company introducing?
Arun Kapoor: JBM is focused on creating a complete ecosystem for EV and e-mobility, which includes charging systems, e-mobility, and e-energy, working together in three verticals. E-mobility is the platform that will drive future green technologies. Our focus is on expanding our product footprint both in India and internationally. We are working on developing safe and long-lasting battery systems that can be used across different countries, climates, and geographies. Additionally, we are using technologies like ADAS, Digital Twin, AI, and Machine Learning to make our buses safer and more automated, so that the behaviour of the vehicles can be predicted and they can be maintained on time.
What were JBM's major achievements in 2024?
Arun Kapoor: In 2024, we achieved several milestones. We set up a gigafactory for bus manufacturing and won large tenders in the bus space. We also established our international presence. In the next 2-3 months, you will see us in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Europe. Additionally, a gigawatt-level factory for battery systems is being set up in India, which will be one of the largest factories in the country.
What are JBM's plans for 2025?
Arun Kapoor: In 2025, our focus will be on advanced battery systems. We are working on a 4-gigawatt-hour battery expansion project, which will cater to not only the automotive sector but also commercial vehicles, three-wheelers, passenger vehicles, and battery energy storage systems. We will also focus on the second-life use of batteries. Moreover, you will see our presence on the roads with more automated and AI systems.
Is EV having an impact on the Indian economy?
Arun Kapoor: EV will have a significant socio-economic impact on India's economy. It will reduce the carbon footprint and decrease pollution, especially from two-wheeler emissions. Additionally, it will promote clean organisations, connected systems, and platform-based vehicles. This will bring a revolution in the entire mobility space, and JBM will play a major role in contributing to the larger Indian economy.
Conclusion:
JBM Green Energy Systems is playing a crucial role in promoting technological innovation and sustainability in the EV and e-mobility sectors. With its gigafactory, international expansion, and advanced battery systems, JBM is making strong strides toward a greener future both in India and globally.
