Rosmerta is reaching new heights in automotive technology through safety and digitalization. This year, it plans to strengthen road safety and passenger security by introducing GNSS tolling and advanced telematics devices.

Rosmerta, a leader in automotive technology, is setting new standards in vehicle safety, digitalization, and telematics solutions. In an interview, Saumya Bhattacharya, GM-Business Development, highlighted Rosmerta advancements in technology, driver monitoring systems, high-security registration plates, and the company's comprehensive vision for 2025. Rosmerta aims to revolutionize the Indian automotive sector through innovation and digital technologies.

How is Rosmerta advancing in automotive technology and digitalization?

Saumya Bhattacharya: We are focusing on M2M connectivity solutions, driver monitoring systems, and alert systems, which are part of free ADAS solutions. Speed-limiting devices are used to control the speed of commercial vehicles, while vehicle tracking is mandated for passenger-carrying vehicles. Additionally, driver monitoring and alert systems are integrated into our telematics products. Monitoring is conducted through cameras to detect distractions, phone usage, or unfastened seat belts. Alerts are issued for speed limit violations, ensuring enhanced safety.

What is the difference in vehicle identification and registration now compared to earlier? How has Rosmerta innovated in this area?

Saumya Bhattacharya: This is an important question. Earlier, driving licenses and registration certificates were paper-based. With advancements in technology, Rosmerta introduced smart cards, enabling citizens to track the status of their driving license or vehicle registration. This digitalization has replaced paper-based systems, making enforcement stronger. Now, vehicle details are instantly accessible through registration numbers, enhancing road safety and ownership validation.

What are your future plans, and how are you expanding dealership and distribution networks?

Saumya Bhattacharya: We operate two types of distribution networks: company-owned dealer-operated and company-owned company-operated. With our manufacturing plant and Pan-India presence, we sell products directly to dealers and affix high-security registration plates to vehicles. This is done either through dealerships or our manpower network, ensuring cost-effective and extensive reach to customers.

What are your plans for 2025?

Telematics will play a crucial role. GNSS tolling will be implemented, setting a new benchmark. By October 2025, the new GNSS tolling concept will be operational, bringing significant changes to telematics devices. The AIS-140 GPS device will support tolling, ensuring barrier-free tolling while enhancing passenger and women's safety. The device's encryption and network capabilities will also be upgraded. Simultaneously, we are upgrading our products and developing new features through our R&D team.

Conclusion

Rosmerta vision goes beyond advancing automotive technologies.By prioritizing road safety, passenger security, and digitalization, it aims to enhance customer experiences. With plans to implement cutting-edge solutions like telematics and GNSS tolling by October 2025, Rosmerta is set to redefine the Indian automotive industry's standards. Its commitment to innovation and technological progress ensures its continued leadership in the sector.
