Ather Energy has installed over 430 fast charging points across 38 cities in Tamil Nadu, including LECCS-enabled stations for multi-brand EV compatibility.

Electric vehicle manufacturer Ather Energy has achieved a major milestone by surpassing 400 Ather Grid fast charging points in Tamil Nadu. As of June 30, 2025, the company operates over 430 fast chargers across 38 cities in the state, with the network continuing to expand.

The charging infrastructure covers key urban centers and tourist destinations such as Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, Rameswaram, Coonoor, and Yelagiri. It also supports major intercity routes, including Coimbatore–Bangalore, Madurai–Kanyakumari, Coimbatore–Palani, Trichy–Chennai, and Chennai–Pondicherry, enabling long-distance EV travel.

In addition to the Ather Grid network, the company has deployed over 50 fast charging points based on the Light Electric Combined Charging System (LECCS) standard. Developed by Ather Energy, this technology allows interoperability with multiple light electric vehicle brands. Integration with Google Maps enables users to easily find and navigate to charging stations.

Currently, Ather Energy operates 44 experience centers and 42 service centers across 35 cities in Tamil Nadu. The expansion has been supported through partnerships with Coffee Day Global Limited, Zeon Electric, Ganga Sweets, and Aswins Sweets.

Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy, said, “Since our entry into Tamil Nadu in 2019, it has been a key market for us. Installing over 400 fast chargers in the state reflects our strong focus on charging accessibility, a critical factor in EV adoption.”

Ather Energy launched India’s first two-wheeler fast charging network in 2018 and now operates the country’s largest dedicated EV two-wheeler charging network, with over 3,300 fast charging points nationwide. These chargers can provide up to 15 km of range in just 10 minutes, reducing downtime for daily commutes and long journeys.

With more than 480 fast charging points in Tamil Nadu—including both Ather Grid and LECCS-enabled stations—the state is emerging as a major hub in India’s rapidly growing electric mobility ecosystem.
