Ather Energy Limited, a leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has introduced the 2025 Ather 450 series with significant updates to improve rider safety, convenience, and performance. The new lineup includes the Ather 450X and the Ather 450 Apex, featuring innovative technologies like multi-mode traction control, MagicTwist™, and enhanced TrueRange™ capabilities.
Speaking about the launch, Ravneet S. Phokela, Chief Business Officer of Ather Energy, emphasized the company’s commitment to upgrading the performance and safety of its 450 series. He highlighted the inclusion of multi-mode traction control—commonly found in premium motorcycles—as a key advancement. This system offers three modes:
Rain Mode for maximum grip on wet surfaces, enhancing safety.
Road Mode for a balanced experience during daily commutes.
Rally Mode for off-road adventures with controlled wheel slip.
The 2025 Ather 450 series also features multi-compound tires developed in collaboration with MRF to boost performance and range. Additionally, MagicTwist™, which was previously available on select models, is now integrated into the 450X. This feature allows riders to control deceleration using the throttle, reducing the need for traditional braking and improving energy efficiency.
The lineup boasts improved TrueRange™ performance:
Ather 450X (3.7 kWh battery): 130 km TrueRange™ (161 km IDC).
Ather 450 Apex: 130 km TrueRange™ (157 km IDC).
Ather 450X (2.9 kWh battery): 105 km TrueRange™ (126 km IDC).
Ather 450S: 105 km TrueRange™ (122 km IDC).
Powered by the AtherStack™ 6 software engine, the scooters include advanced features like Google Maps integration, Alexa compatibility, WhatsApp notifications, and live location sharing. The "Ping My Scooter" function helps locate the vehicle with sound and visual cues.
The lineup is backed by the Eight70 warranty, covering up to eight years or 80,000 km with a guarantee of 70% battery health. The 450X (2.9 kWh variant) also benefits from faster charging, thanks to the Ather Duo charger, reducing 0-80% charging time to just three hours. The 450 Apex comes bundled with Ather’s smart Halo helmet.
