Baggit, one of the fast growing women’s handbag and wallet brand in the country is aiming to become a ‘complete lifestyle retail brand’ for the Indian women. The brand is all set to foray into jewellery and footwear within this year itself.
"We're also looking at entering the jewellery and the footwear market in the next two months in a few select stores. So, we plan to convert Baggit from a women's handbag to a complete lifestyle retail brand for women," confirmed Nina Lekhi, MD and chief design curator, Baggit, while speaking with Franchise India.
Nina is also upbeat about the new brand that she is set to launch come September. “We are introducing a new brand called Maatii in September. It will offer upcycled products and this will only be available at our 150 retail touchpoints like our company-owned stores and shop-in-shops," she said.
That’s not all. The brand is all set to go omnichannel next financial year. It also eyeing to re-enter international markets like the USA, UK, Australia, and GCC region through strategic local partnerships.
Baggit will also be expanding its retail footprint in the country via franchising.
"67 stores out of the 101 stores that we operate; are run by franchise partners, and the remaining 34 stores are COCO model based (company-owned and company-operated). Moving forward, we plan to operate all the new 60 stores with franchise partners," concluded Nina.
