BYD India has announced significant upgrades to its SEAL luxury sedan and ATTO 3 SUV models, coinciding with the first anniversary of the SEAL in the Indian market. These enhancements focus on improving performance, comfort, and technology, further solidifying BYD's presence in India's electric vehicle (EV) sector.
Since its launch, the ATTO 3 has sold over 3,100 units, and the 2025 model now comes with an all-black interior, ventilated front seats, and an upgraded Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) low-voltage battery. BYD claims this new battery is six times lighter than conventional options, has five times better self-discharge consumption, and boasts an extended lifespan of 15 years.
As part of its anniversary celebrations, BYD is offering the first 3,000 customers of the ATTO 3 Model Year 2025 the vehicle at 2024 ex-showroom prices. The pricing starts at ₹24.99 lakh for the Dynamic variant (49.92kWh battery) and goes up to ₹33.99 lakh for the Superior variant (60.48kWh battery).
The SEAL, which has achieved approximately 1,300 unit sales in its first year, receives several upgrades aimed at improving convenience and driving comfort. New features include a standard power sunshade, silver-plated dimming canopy, an upgraded air conditioning system with enhanced purification, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
On the technical front, the SEAL Premium variant now comes equipped with Frequency Selective Dampers (FSD), while the Performance trim features the new DiSus-C intelligent damping system. This system dynamically adjusts suspension characteristics based on real-time driving conditions to improve handling and ride comfort.
Bookings for the 2025 SEAL open on March 11 with a ₹1,25,000 deposit, though pricing details will be announced in April.
Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles Business at BYD India, emphasised the company’s dedication to innovation. "The enhancements represent a significant step forward in our commitment to the Indian market. Keeping innovation and technology at the core, we have delivered upgrades that enhance every aspect of the driving experience," he said.
Since entering the Indian passenger vehicle market in 2021, BYD has expanded its lineup to include the SEALION 7, ATTO 3, eMAX 7, and SEAL models. The SEAL sedan has earned multiple accolades, including the Times Network Award for EV Sedan of the Year and Autocar’s Premium EV of the Year. Internationally, it received the iF Design Award and was a top-three finalist for "World Car of the Year" at the 2024 Geneva Motor Show. The upgraded SEAL and ATTO 3 models will be available at BYD dealerships across India starting March 11, 2025.
