Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast Auto India has inaugurated its largest showroom in India, located in the Teynampet area of Chennai. This marks the company's first dealership in Tamil Nadu and is a key step in its strategy to expand across India's growing EV market.
The 4,700 sq. ft showroom, operated in partnership with Maansarovar Motors, will showcase VinFast’s electric SUV models — the VF 6 and VF 7. It is the first of 35 showrooms that the company plans to open across 27 cities in India by the end of 2025.
Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, stated that Chennai was chosen for its robust infrastructure, skilled workforce, and industrial ecosystem. “With this dealership, we aim to bring our electric mobility solutions closer to customers in Tamil Nadu,” he said at the launch event.
Pre-bookings for the VF 6 and VF 7 began on July 15, with customers able to place a fully refundable booking of ₹21,000 either at the dealership or through the official website, VinFastAuto.in.
Emphasizing its commitment to sustainability, VinFast has partnered with RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure to develop nationwide EV charging infrastructure and provide after-sales service. Additionally, it has teamed up with BatX Energies to promote battery recycling initiatives.
VinFast is a subsidiary of Vietnam’s Vingroup JSC and is aggressively pursuing global expansion with a focus on North America, Europe, and Asia. The company’s product portfolio includes electric SUVs, e-scooters, and e-buses.
