Roy, who was designated CEO in November 2024, had been working closely with the outgoing MD, Avijit Mitra for smooth transition.

Croma, the Tata Group’s leading retail chain, has named Shibashish Roy as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD), effective April 1. With over two decades of experience within Tata Group companies, Roy is poised to steer the brand towards continued growth with a strong focus on digital innovation and customer engagement.

Roy, who was designated CEO in November 2024, has been working closely with the outgoing MD, Avijit Mitra, throughout a smooth transition period that wrapped up in March 2025. This shift comes as part of a strategic succession plan put in place last year.

"Shibashish’s deep knowledge of the Tata Group, coupled with his digital-first mindset and dedication to enhancing customer experiences, will undoubtedly help Croma achieve new milestones. I look forward to seeing how his leadership propels the brand forward," said Naveen Tahilyani, Chairman of Infiniti Retail Ltd, which operates Croma.

With more than 20 years of experience across Tata Group companies, Roy has played a key role in expanding Croma’s footprint and refining its customer service strategies across various channels.

Looking ahead, Croma aims to further strengthen its market position and boost profitability in the fiscal year 2026, according to the company’s statement.
