In a significant push toward promoting electric mobility, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta flagged off 100 new DEVi (Delhi Electric Vehicle Interconnector) electric buses from the Narela Terminal. Out of these, 66 buses have been manufactured by JBM Electric Vehicles and will serve various routes across western and north-western Delhi.

The DEVi initiative aims to enhance Delhi’s public transport network by integrating more electric buses, thereby reducing pollution and improving urban mobility. The JBM-manufactured buses have been developed at the company’s state-of-the-art facility in the Delhi-NCR region, which boasts an annual production capacity of 20,000 electric buses—one of the largest outside China.

The newly inducted electric buses are equipped with several commuter-friendly and safety features, including real-time passenger information systems, CCTV cameras, stop request buttons, fire detection and alarm systems, and vehicle health monitoring tools. Seats have been reserved for women passengers, and drivers benefit from ergonomic dashboards that enhance control and reduce distractions during operation.

JBM Electric Vehicles, a subsidiary of JBM Auto Ltd, provides zero-emission public transport solutions through its ECO-LIFE electric bus series. The company operates under its integrated JBM E-Verse platform, which includes electric buses, lithium-ion battery systems, charging infrastructure, and digital fleet management tools. Its ecosystem also features ECOBOLT battery packs and ECOFUEL charging systems supporting both AC and DC fast charging.

To ensure efficiency and uptime, JBM uses cloud-based tracking, onboard diagnostics, and data analytics, promoting a “Well-to-Wheel” electrification model. With a growing presence in India, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Australia, JBM aligns its products and services with global trends in sustainability and cost-effective transit solutions.
