Hyundai unveiled the all-new NEXO Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) at the Seoul Mobility Show, featuring an extended 700 km range, faster acceleration, and advanced safety features.
Hyundai Motor Company has officially unveiled the all-new NEXO Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) at the Seoul Mobility Show, introducing its second-generation hydrogen-powered SUV with enhanced range, improved performance, and advanced technology.
The new NEXO offers a driving range of over 700 km with a five-minute hydrogen refill, making it a strong zero-emission contender in the SUV segment. The vehicle’s acceleration has improved, reaching 0-100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds—a significant upgrade from the previous 9.2 seconds—due to a power boost from 135 kW to 190 kW.
Hyundai has incorporated its latest ‘Art of Steel’ design language into the NEXO, featuring distinctive ‘HTWO’ lamps, a nod to the company’s hydrogen brand. The new model is larger in all dimensions, offering greater passenger comfort and an expanded cargo capacity of 993 liters.
Inside, the new NEXO features first-row Premium Relaxation Seats with leg rests, ventilated second-row seats, and a curved display that integrates a 12.3-inch driver information cluster with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. The cabin also incorporates eco-friendly materials, including bio-process leather and recycled fabrics.
Under the hood, the vehicle’s hydrogen fuel cell stack now delivers 110 kW, reflecting a 16% increase. A more powerful 150 kW electric motor and a 6.69 kg hydrogen storage capacity further improve efficiency. The SUV also boasts enhanced aerodynamics, and for European models, it introduces a first-of-its-kind towing capacity of up to 1,000 kg for an FCEV.
The new NEXO comes equipped with a multi-skeleton structure for improved rigidity, up to nine airbags, and a suite of driver assistance technologies, including:
• Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist
• Highway Driving Assist
• Remote Smart Parking Assist 2
The all-new NEXO will be available in six exterior colors, including the Korean-inspired Goyo Copper Pearl, and three interior themes. The SUV is set to launch globally later this year.
Hyundai continues to expand its hydrogen fuel cell infrastructure as part of its broader electrification strategy, reinforcing its commitment to multi-powertrain mobility solutions and sustainable transportation.
