- Hyundai Unveils Creta Electric with Impressive Range and Advanced Features
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has launched the highly anticipated Hyundai Creta Electric, marking a big step forward in its electric vehicle (EV) plan. The new model blends the iconic SUV style with cutting-edge electric technology, appealing to Indian consumers' changing demands for sustainability without sacrificing performance.
The Hyundai Creta Electric has Hyundai's global pixel design language, including a distinctive front grille with a pixelated image, an integrated charging port, and pixelated bumpers. LED tail lamps and Active Air Flaps (AAF) for improved aerodynamics and cooling round off the elegant appearance. The car also comes with R17 Aero Alloy Wheels and low rolling resistance (LRR) tyres, which increase its driving range and aerodynamic efficiency.
The Creta Electric will come with two battery options. The 51.4 kWh battery has an astounding range of 473 km on a single charge, while the 42 kWh variant has a range of 390 km. Charging is made easier with the addition of DC fast charging, which can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes, and an 11 kW wall box charger for home charging, which takes around 4 hours to fully charge the vehicle.
In terms of performance, the Hyundai Creta Electric accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds for the long-range option. Advanced features include car-to-Load (V2L) technology, which allows the car to power external equipment, as well as i-Pedal technology, which allows for one-pedal driving. The Creta Electric also includes a shift-by-wire technology for seamless gear control and a digital key for easy access via smartphones or smartwatches.
The Creta Electric will be available in four variants—Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence—along with a choice of eight monotone and two dual-tone colour options, including three matte finishes. A new Ocean Blue Metallic with a black roof is also being introduced as a standout option.
Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer at HMIL, emphasised that the Hyundai Creta Electric reflects the company’s commitment to offering locally tailored electric SUVs for Indian consumers. He added that the launch aligns with Hyundai’s global vision of sustainable mobility, with a focus on battery localisation and infrastructure development.
With the introduction of the Creta Electric, Hyundai aims to strengthen its foothold in India’s rapidly growing EV market while continuing the legacy of the widely popular Creta brand.
