Jindal Mobilitric, a subsidiary of Jindal Worldwide Limited, has unveiled its first electric vehicle, the R40, which delivers a range of 165 kilometers on a single charge. The company has submitted the model for government homologation and expects regulatory approval soon.
With the launch of the R40, Jindal Worldwide has formally entered the electric mobility sector. The company has established a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad, with an annual production capacity of 250,000 vehicles. Additionally, it has set up an in-house battery manufacturing unit with the same capacity to ensure quality and safety.
Currently, Jindal Mobilitric operates through 35 dealerships across India and plans to expand its network to 100 dealers within the next year. The company has stated that its production facility is fully operational and vehicle rollout will begin as soon as regulatory approvals are granted.
The R40 has been developed entirely through in-house research and development, and the battery facility is expected to support the safety and rapid adoption of EVs across the country.
Jindal Worldwide Limited is traditionally known as a leading textile and denim fabric manufacturer, considered one of the world’s largest in its category. This move into the EV space represents a significant business diversification strategy for the group.
The company plans to share more details about the R40’s specifications, features, and launch timeline through its official website and social media platforms once the approval process is complete.
