Kinetic Group Completes Ahmednagar Battery Plant with 60,000 Annual Capacity
Kinetic Group has completed its ₹50 crore battery manufacturing facility in Ahmednagar, with an annual capacity of 60,000 battery packs.

Kinetic Group has announced the completion of its state-of-the-art battery manufacturing facility in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. The ₹50 crore facility boasts an annual production capacity of 60,000 battery packs and will manufacture Range-X branded Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) and Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) batteries for two and three-wheeler electric vehicles.

Equipped with automated production lines, IoT-enabled systems, and stage-wise inspections, the facility adheres to industry standards, including AIS 156 and AIS 004. Kinetic Group plans to supply batteries to other OEMs beyond its own brand, tapping into India's rapidly expanding EV market, which is projected to reach US$ 18.319 billion by 2029, growing at a CAGR of 28.52%.

The Range-X LFP batteries are designed with thermal runaway protection and smart Battery Management System (BMS) integration. The company highlights its commitment to sustainability by manufacturing batteries using recyclable materials. The NMC batteries produced at the facility will focus on high energy density and optimized charge-discharge rates.

Speaking about the development, Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Kinetic Group, said,"This facility is a testament to our commitment to self-reliance and sustainability in battery technology. We are also working on localizing BMS development under the government's PLI schemes and PM E-Drive Make in India initiative."

Kinetic Engineering Limited, the flagship company of Kinetic Group, has been a major player in the automotive sector for over five decades. The Ahmednagar manufacturing complex employs around 1,000 people across 32 manufacturing sheds and operates with over 400 machines. The company’s client portfolio includes leading automotive manufacturers such as Renault, TATA Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Ashok Leyland.

As India focuses on reducing dependency on imports and strengthening domestic EV production, the government has introduced multiple incentives, including Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes. Kinetic Group’s expansion into EV battery manufacturing aligns with this national vision, contributing to a self-sufficient and robust EV supply chain.
