- Magenta Mobility Scales Operations with 500+ Electric Cargo 4-Wheelers
Magenta Mobility has strengthened its position in India’s electric mobility sector by emerging as a prominent operator of 4-wheeler electric cargo fleets. The company now boasts a fleet of over 500 electric cargo 4-wheelers, enhancing urban, intercity, and interstate logistics with a focus on sustainable transportation.
Building on its success in the 3-wheeler EV segment, where it serves major clients like Amazon, Flipkart, and BigBasket, Magenta Mobility is now scaling up its presence in the 4-wheeler category. This strategic move aligns with the rising demand for electric vehicles (EVs) in the logistics sector.
The company has rolled out interstate logistics services across key routes, including a 180-kilometre corridor connecting Rajasthan, Haryana, and Delhi and a 140-kilometre corridor linking Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. For intercity operations, Magenta Mobility has introduced a service on the Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai route, covering a 422-kilometre round trip.
Magenta Mobility’s 4-wheeler electric cargo fleet offers a range of 150 kilometres per charge, enabling longer journeys while lowering carbon emissions and operational costs. Traditionally, electric vehicles were restricted to intra-city logistics with ranges of 100-120 kilometres per charge. However, Magenta’s recent trials have demonstrated the viability of EVs for extended intercity and interstate transportation.
Speaking about the development, Maxson Lewis, Founder and CEO of Magenta Mobility, said, “Our entry into intercity and interstate logistics highlights our efforts to promote sustainable and efficient transportation solutions. The adoption of electric vehicles in mid-mile and first-mile logistics is steadily advancing, contributing to the decarbonisation of the sector.”
Looking ahead, Magenta Mobility aims to expand its fleet by adding 10,000 electric vehicles, including both 3-wheelers and 4-wheelers, in the upcoming financial year. The company also plans to extend its operations to new cities such as Nashik, Nagpur, Vijayawada, Indore, and Kolkata.
This expansion marks a significant step in Magenta Mobility’s efforts to revolutionise India’s logistics sector with clean and efficient transportation solutions.
