Ola Electric, India’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer, has officially entered the electric motorcycle market with the launch of its Roadster X series. The lineup, introduced today, features five variants with prices ranging from ₹74,999 to ₹1,54,999. Deliveries are set to begin in mid-March.
The top-tier Roadster X+ 9.1kWh variant, powered by 4680 Bharat Cell technology, boasts an impressive range of 501 km per charge. The entry-level Roadster X is available in 2.5kWh, 3.5kWh, and 4.5kWh battery configurations, priced at ₹74,999, ₹84,999, and ₹94,999, respectively.
A standout feature of the Roadster X series is its patented brake-by-wire technology with single ABS and industry-first flat cables. The motorcycles come equipped with a 4.3-inch LCD screen with USB connectivity, a mid-motor with an integrated MCU, and operate on Ola’s MoveOS 5 platform.
Speaking on the launch, Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of Ola Electric, highlighted the strategic importance of motorcycles in India's mobility landscape. He stated that the new series is designed to accelerate EV adoption and make electric motorcycles the preferred choice for both urban and rural riders.
Performance varies across the lineup, with the base variant reaching a top speed of 105 km/h, while higher-end models can achieve 125 km/h. The 2.5kWh model accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in 3.4 seconds, with premium variants reducing this to 2.7 seconds.
The launch comes on the heels of Ola Electric’s Gen 3 portfolio and the expansion of its electric scooter range. With over 800 experience centers nationwide and its Ola Futurefactory in Tamil Nadu, the company continues to strengthen its position in India’s rapidly growing EV sector.
By diversifying into motorcycles, Ola Electric aims to capture a larger share of the electric two-wheeler market, positioning itself as a formidable player across both scooter and motorcycle segments.
