Beneficiaries of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme have been invited to attend the Republic Day Parade 2025 as special guests. A total of 100 beneficiaries, along with their spouses, will witness the grand event at Kartavya Path in New Delhi. This initiative reflects the government's commitment to recognizing and empowering traditional artisans and craftsmen under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.
The PM Vishwakarma Scheme was launched on September 17, 2023, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to support artisans and craftsmen engaged in 18 traditional skills. The scheme aims to assist those who are self-employed or running small-scale enterprises by providing financial aid, skill development opportunities, and other benefits. As of now, 26.87 lakh beneficiaries have successfully registered under the scheme, showcasing its widespread impact.
To celebrate and encourage these beneficiaries, the government has extended this special invitation, allowing them to participate in the Republic Day celebrations. Among the 100 attendees, 37 are women beneficiaries, representing diverse regions, including rural and urban areas, Northeastern states, and four Union Territories. Many of these beneficiaries are also from aspirational districts, highlighting the scheme’s inclusive nature.
This gesture underscores the government's efforts to uplift traditional artisans and provide them with a platform to connect with national pride and achievements. It also aligns with the vision of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, which emphasizes enhancing livelihoods and promoting the craftsmanship heritage of India. By recognizing these individuals on a national stage, the initiative aims to inspire others to pursue traditional skills and contribute to the economy.
The PM Vishwakarma Scheme has played a transformative role in improving the lives of artisans and craftsmen by providing them with opportunities to scale their businesses and gain better market access. Inviting beneficiaries to the Republic Day Parade not only honors their contributions but also highlights the importance of preserving India’s rich cultural heritage. This celebration of talent and tradition reflects the scheme's broader mission of empowering every Vishwakarma to achieve sustainable growth and success.
