PURE EV, a Hyderabad-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jio Things Limited, a subsidiary of Jio Platforms Limited, to incorporate smart digital clusters and telematics technologies into its vehicles. The collaboration intends to improve user experience by leveraging Internet of Things (IoT) technology and sophisticated digital integration.
Under the agreement, PURE EV will outfit its electric two-wheelers with JioThings' 4G-enabled smart digital clusters, enabling real-time monitoring of vehicle performance indicators. This move is expected to give riders actionable tips for enhancing their riding experience.
The integration will feature JioThings' 4G Smart Digital Cluster, which is powered by AvniOS, an operating system based on the Android Open Source Project. The technology provides data analytics, customised interfaces, and touchscreen compatibility, making IoT integration easier for electric vehicle producers. The Jio Automotive App Suite (JAAS) will also be introduced, allowing passengers to use JioStore, audio streaming, web browsing, voice assistance, navigation, and gaming applications.
Dr. Nishanth Dongari, Founder and Managing Director of PURE EV, highlighted the significance of the partnership, stating, "Exploring JioThings' IoT capabilities within our vehicles presents an opportunity to enhance PURE EV’s products. We aim to improve electric mobility by increasing efficiency and interactivity."
