Rajasthan to Launch EV Subsidy Portal Soon
Rajasthan government will launch an EV subsidy portal next month, allowing vehicle owners to apply for financial benefits. The initiative includes state GST reimbursement and grants for EV buyers, benefiting around 1.6 lakh owners.

Electric vehicle (EV) owners in Rajasthan will soon be able to apply for subsidies through a new online portal developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC). The portal, currently in its final testing phase, will enable EV owners to submit subsidy applications and feature vehicle listings from manufacturers and dealers.

A senior official from the transport department confirmed the development, stating, "The portal is almost ready, and final checks are underway. Currently, the registration of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) is in progress, and the application process for vehicle owners is expected to begin next month."

As part of its Electric Vehicle Policy, the Rajasthan transport department has established a ₹200 crore e-vehicle fund this year. The initiative offers state GST reimbursement and a one-time grant to EV buyers with advanced batteries. The financial benefits apply to vehicles purchased and registered in the state from September 1, 2022 onwards. EV owners must submit their bank details on the portal for subsidy disbursement.

Officials estimate that around 1.6 lakh EV buyers will be eligible for benefits under this scheme. Two-wheeler incentives range from ₹5,000 to ₹10,000 for fixed batteries and ₹2,000 to ₹5,000 for swappable batteries. Three-wheelers will receive subsidies between ₹10,000 and ₹20,000 for fixed batteries and ₹4,000 to ₹10,000 for swappable batteries. Additionally, retrofit kits for three-wheelers will be subsidized at 15% of the kit cost, up to a maximum of ₹10,000 per vehicle.

For four-wheelers, incentives apply to vehicles with a maximum ex-showroom price of ₹20 lakh, offering ₹30,000 to ₹50,000 in subsidies. Retrofit kits for four-wheelers will also receive 15% of the kit cost, capped at ₹15,000 per vehicle. The transport department is expected to officially launch the portal next month, streamlining the subsidy application process for EV owners across the state.
