Raptee.HV’s T30 Becomes India’s First High-Voltage Electric Motorcycle with ARAI Certification
Raptee.HV has received ARAI certification for the T30, India’s first electric two-wheeler featuring high-voltage technology used in electric cars.

In a groundbreaking development for India’s electric vehicle (EV) industry, Raptee.HV has received ARAI certification for its T30 motorcycle, making it the country’s first electric two-wheeler to feature high-voltage technology typically used in electric cars. This milestone positions T30 as the only electric motorcycle in India compatible with CCS2 DC fast-charging standards, offering unparalleled charging convenience.

The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), the nation’s premier automobile certification body, grants mandatory approval for vehicles to be legally registered and roadworthy. Raptee.HV’s achievement underscores its vision, since its inception in 2019, to introduce advanced global EV technology at an optimised price for Indian and international riders.

Since its launch in October 2024, Raptee.HV has received over 8,000 registrations for the T30, positioning the company to meet its first-year sales target of $25 million. The company is now preparing for large-scale deliveries, starting with Chennai and Bangalore, before expanding into other key markets.

Dinesh Arjun, CEO & Co-Founder of Raptee.HV, emphasised the significance of this achievement, stating, “We are setting a precedent in the motorcycle industry, which will inevitably transition to high-voltage technology, much like electric cars, due to its advantages. Developing an entirely new architecture required not only creating subcomponents but also setting new performance, safety, and validation standards while collaborating with suppliers and regulatory bodies.”

Raptee.HV plans to leverage its newly developed high-voltage platform to introduce a new electric motorcycle model every 12 months, accelerating innovation in the segment.

Designed to compete with 300-cc internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles, the T30 offers superior performance through its high-voltage powertrain, enhanced ride dynamics, and industry-leading software features. Despite its technological advancements, Raptee.HV has achieved price parity with 300cc ICE motorcycles, with an ex-showroom price of ₹2.39 lakh. Additional benefits, such as EV tax incentives and reduced ownership costs, make the T30 an attractive proposition for Indian consumers.

Jayapradeep Vasudevan, Chief Business Officer at Raptee.HV, highlighted the impact of the ARAI certification, saying, “This is a phenomenal milestone for any automotive OEM, and even more so for Raptee.HV, as we have developed an entirely new high-voltage technology for electric two-wheelers. Our technology not only enhances the riding experience but also addresses key barriers in the EV industry, such as reliability and charging anxiety.”

The T30 stands out by offering a seamless charging experience, both at home and on the go. With high-voltage (HV) technology and CCS2 compatibility, the motorcycle gains access to India’s growing DC fast-charging network, which currently comprises over 22,000 stations and is rapidly expanding. Additionally, the T30 features industry-leading at-home charging solutions, including the fastest charging speeds, the most powerful onboard charger, and a lightweight, portable external charging cable.

Beyond India, the T30’s compatibility with global DC fast-charging networks gives it a strong foothold in international markets. With an 8-year standard battery warranty—matching the industry standard for electric cars—Raptee.HV aims to set new benchmarks for reliability in electric motorcycles.

The company is also ramping up its financial strategy to support its aggressive expansion. Having raised capital in October 2023 from Blue Hill Capital and Artha 99, Raptee.HV is currently in discussions to secure an additional $19 million to meet working capital demands and accelerate growth.

With its cutting-edge technology, competitive pricing, and growing market demand, Raptee.HV’s T30 is poised to disrupt not only India’s two-wheeler segment but also the global electric motorcycle industry.
