Qualcomm’s tech integration in Flying Flea combines Royal Enfield’s heritage with innovation. The EV boasts real-time diagnostics, customisable ride modes, and secure communication for a next-gen rider experience.

In a historic step, Royal Enfield has announced a partnership with Qualcomm Technologies to incorporate the Snapdragon QWM2290 system-on-chip (SoC) and Snapdragon Car-to-Cloud Platform into its future Flying Flea electric motorcycle. This collaboration represents a huge step forward in connected mobility for two-wheelers, establishing the Flying Flea as a leader in sophisticated connection and rider-focused technology.

The Snapdragon QWM2290 SoC will power the Flying Flea's FFC6 model, providing cutting-edge networked solutions and a unified cluster interface. With the integration of the Snapdragon Car-to-Cloud platform, Flying Flea becomes one of the first two-wheeler platforms to offer a comprehensive connected services ecosystem.

Commenting on the collaboration, Mario Alvisi, Chief Growth Officer for Electric Vehicles at Royal Enfield, stated, “Flying Flea embodies a new vision for Royal Enfield, focusing on groundbreaking technology, authentic design, and modern innovation. The partnership with Qualcomm Technologies marks a significant step toward delivering advanced EV solutions and providing a unique and differentiated experience in the electric mobility space.”

Jeff Arnold, Vice President of Product Management at Qualcomm Technologies, highlighted the technological significance of the initiative. “The Snapdragon QWM2290 SoC for two-wheelers is enabling a new era of connected mobility by offering enhanced connectivity, intelligence, and safety features to the riding experience. By combining Royal Enfield’s rich heritage with Qualcomm’s innovative technology, we are setting a new benchmark for performance and rider experience,” he said.

Nimish Shrivastava, Senior Director of Product Management at Qualcomm Technologies, added, “The integration of connected services is transforming the two-wheeler market by delivering real-time diagnostics, advanced navigation, and personalised ride settings, improving both safety and convenience. We are proud to support Flying Flea in creating cutting-edge technology for the two-wheeler industry.”

The Snapdragon QWM2290 SoC, designed specifically for two-wheelers, will govern the vehicle's essential operations through an in-house operating system created by Flying Flea. This technology provides seamless control of motorcycle functions as well as an interactive experience via the genuine round TFT cluster.

Furthermore, Snapdragon Car-to-Cloud technology provides safe and multimodal communication between rider and motorcycle by leveraging 4G, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity. Key features include an easy-to-use user interface, a dedicated Voice Assist button, adjustable ride modes, and a smart key function that allows customers to unlock and start the car using their mobile phones.

This partnership demonstrates Royal Enfield's dedication to blending its storied past with cutting-edge innovation, thereby setting new benchmarks for electric mobility in the two-wheeler category.
