In a move aimed at accelerating the adoption of electric mobility, Sieger Technologies and Urja Mobility have announced a partnership to roll out 2,500 advanced batteries for electric two- and three-wheelers. Backed by Urja Mobility’s ₹10 crore investment, the initiative seeks to address the financial barriers of battery ownership while promoting eco-friendly transportation.
The collaboration focuses on launching a battery leasing system as an affordable alternative to outright battery purchases. This strategy is likely to make commercial electric vehicles more accessible, particularly to fleet operators.
Sieger Technologies' batteries include cutting-edge features such as sophisticated chemistry cells for increased energy efficiency, heat control mechanisms, and a smart Battery Management System (BMS) with IoT connectivity. The batteries are compatible with a wide range of electric two- and three-wheelers and are intended to improve vehicle performance and longevity.
Speaking on the agreement, Guru Prasanth, co-founder of Sieger Technologies, expressed optimism about the partnership. “This initiative blends innovative battery technology with a creative leasing model. We aim to redefine the EV experience for both individual users and businesses,” he said.
Urja Mobility’s leasing programme provides businesses access to lithium-ion batteries in various configurations. For two-wheelers, options include 51.2V-20Ah to 40Ah batteries, while three-wheeler configurations range from 51.2V-100Ah to 200Ah. All batteries come equipped with fast-charging capabilities, enabling full charges in just two to four hours.
This partnership is expected to play a pivotal role in India’s transition to sustainable mobility, offering cost-effective solutions to fleet managers and businesses while advancing the country’s EV ecosystem.
