
Tata Motors, in collaboration with DIMO, has launched a new range of passenger vehicles in Sri Lanka, marking a significant step in its international expansion. The lineup includes both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicles (EV), featuring the Tata Punch, Nexon, and Curvv SUVs, along with the Tiago.ev electric hatchback.
As part of the launch event, Tata Motors also showcased its expanded EV portfolio, unveiling the Punch.ev, Nexon.ev, and Curvv.ev, reinforcing the company's growing presence in the electric vehicle segment.
Yash Khandelwal, Head of International Business at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., described this launch as “a new chapter in Tata Motors’ international business strategy.” He highlighted the combination of design, features, safety, and after-sales support that Tata vehicles offer, emphasizing the success of the Tiago.ev, which is already available in India, Nepal, and Bhutan.
Rajeev Pandithage, Executive Director of DIMO, noted that Tata Motors is the first passenger vehicle brand to enter Sri Lanka since the market reopened. He underscored the affordability of the new lineup and DIMO’s commitment to providing strong after-sales service.
Tata Motors has also announced warranty details for the new vehicles:
ICE models: Three-year or 100,000 km warranty
EV models: Three-year or 125,000 km warranty
EV battery & motor: Covered for eight years or 165,000 km
24/7 roadside assistance and technical support will be provided by DIMO
Tata Motors has been expanding its global footprint, particularly in the electric mobility space. Holding approximately 70% market share in India’s EV segment, the company continues to drive sustainable transportation.
Sri Lanka, which has been working to reopen and stabilize its automobile market following economic challenges, is showing growing interest in electric mobility to support its sustainability goals and reduce fuel dependency.
With this launch, Tata Motors aims to strengthen its presence in South Asia while promoting EV adoption through its diverse and affordable electric vehicle portfolio.
