Uber has announced a strategic partnership with Refex Green Mobility to deploy 1,000 electric vehicles (EVs) across key Indian cities by 2026. This move aligns with Uber’s global ambition to achieve 100% emission-free rides by 2040.
The new EV fleet, operating under Refex Green Mobility’s brand Refex eVeelz, will be introduced in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. The collaboration aims to meet the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions in India’s urban centers.
Aditya Kapoor, Head of Supply and Electrification at Uber India and South Asia, emphasised the company’s commitment to accelerating the shift toward zero-emission mobility. “Partnerships like this help expand electric ride options across multiple cities, making clean transportation more accessible,” Kapoor stated.
Sachin Navtosh Jha, Chief of Staff at Refex Group, highlighted that the partnership aligns with Refex’s broader sustainability goals. “With Refex eVeelz already operating nearly 1,300 company-owned four-wheeler EVs in both B2B and B2C segments, this collaboration strengthens our mission to promote green mobility,” Jha noted.
As part of its broader EV expansion, Uber has also introduced Uber Green in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata, allowing users to book all-electric, zero tailpipe-emission rides through the app.
Since entering India in 2013, Uber has expanded its presence to 125 cities, facilitating over 3 billion trips. The company continues to support driver partners while contributing to the evolution of urban mobility.
Refex Green Mobility, a subsidiary of Refex Industries Limited, is part of the Refex Group, which was founded in 2002 and has since diversified into logistics, renewables, healthcare, and retail.
