Yokohama India has taken a significant step toward enhancing its local manufacturing capabilities by commencing the production of 20-inch tires at its state-of-the-art facility in Bahadurgarh, Haryana. This strategic move is in response to the rising demand for larger tires, fueled by the increasing popularity of SUVs and the growing premium vehicle segment.
One of the standout offerings in this category is the Geolandar X-CV (G057), a high-performance tire specifically designed for luxury SUVs. Featuring an asymmetric tread pattern, advanced silica compounds, and a 2-ply sidewall, the X-CV ensures superior grip, enhanced durability, and a smooth driving experience. The tire is now available across Yokohama India’s extensive network of over 3,000 retailers nationwide.
This expansion follows Yokohama India’s recent move to localize the production of 19-inch tires, further solidifying its commitment to offering world-class products tailored to the Indian market. By keeping pace with changing market trends and technological advancements, the company aims to strengthen its presence and support the evolving needs of Indian motorists.
Gaurav Mahajan, Head of Marketing at Yokohama India, commented on the development, stating, "With improving road infrastructure and advancements in vehicle technology, the passenger vehicle segment is increasingly adopting larger tires.
