Yuma Energy, a leading Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) provider in India, has announced the acquisition of Grinntech Motors & Services Pvt. Ltd., a Chennai-based start-up specializing in energy storage solutions. This strategic move aims to accelerate the adoption of clean energy solutions for businesses and individual consumers by integrating Grinntech’s expertise in battery technology, research, and manufacturing.
With this acquisition, Yuma Energy plans to build a fully integrated BaaS ecosystem, including battery design and production, charging units, a swapping network, and a digital customer platform. The company introduced a new battery at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in partnership with Grinntech, reflecting their long-standing collaboration.
Muthu Subramanian, Managing Director & General Manager of Yuma Energy, stated, "This acquisition enhances our capabilities in battery management, research, and manufacturing. By leveraging Grinntech’s technology, we will continue to innovate and improve battery performance, reliability, and safety." Meanwhile, Grinntech’s co-founders, Puneet Jain and Nikhilesh Mishra, expressed enthusiasm about joining Yuma Energy and driving innovation in the battery technology sector.
The acquisition is expected to improve battery safety, performance, and cost-efficiency, making clean energy solutions more accessible.
