ZELIO E Mobility Ltd., a frontrunner in India’s electric mobility sector, is set to significantly expand its footprint in the electric three-wheeler market by ramping up its dealership network. The company currently operates 28 dealerships across seven states and plans to increase that number to 100 by the end of May 2025, reinforcing its commitment to clean, affordable transportation.
ZELIO’s existing dealership presence spans Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand. The expansion strategy includes deepening reach in these states and entering new markets such as Uttarakhand, Delhi, Assam, and West Bengal. With this move, ZELIO aims to cater to the rising demand for sustainable mobility, especially in urban and semi-urban regions.
The expansion is expected to generate 400–500 new jobs, supporting local economies and strengthening ZELIO’s position as a key player in India’s growing EV landscape.
Kunal Arya, Co-Founder and Managing Director of ZELIO E Mobility Ltd., said, “E-rickshaws play a vital role in last-mile connectivity across cities and rural areas. Our dealership expansion is a step toward making eco-friendly transportation more accessible, while driving job creation and innovation in the EV space.”
The initiative will primarily focus on promoting ZELIO’s flagship electric three-wheelers – Tanga Butterfly and Tanga SS – which debuted at the EV India Expo 2024. Designed for durability, the Tanga Butterfly is made from Mild Steel (MS) and the Tanga SS from Stainless Steel (SS). Both models have a top speed of 30 km/h and a 100 km range on a single charge, powered by a 1200W motor.
To address diverse consumer needs, the vehicles come with battery options including a 48/60V 140Ah Lead-Acid and LFP variants of 51V 105Ah or 153Ah. With an 8-hour charging time, the e-rickshaws are built for everyday utility.
ZELIO anticipates selling at least 400 additional units by May 2025 as a result of the increased dealership network, further solidifying its footprint in the electric last-mile mobility market.
