- ChargeZone Launch Gujarat’s First Kempower-Equipped EV Charging Hub
ChargeZone, a key operator in India's EV charging network, has opened its first Kempower-equipped charging hub at the Shreenath Food Hub on a major highway. The facility, administered by ChargeZone and erected by WGB Charging Sol Pvt. Ltd., is a significant step forward in strengthening the country's e-mobility infrastructure.
The hub includes a cutting-edge 400 kW Kempower Power Unit charging system with two double-output and one single-output Kempower Satellites with CCS2 connectors. It stands out as one of India's pioneering hubs for various EV users, serving both passenger vehicles and electric trucks.
Carlo Cecchi, Director of New Markets at Kempower, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are delighted to work with ChargeZone, one of India’s leading charge point operators. Both companies share a vision of setting up high-quality fast-charging hubs to support intercity and interstate travel. Our commitment to uptime and reliability is crucial for fostering confidence in EV adoption.”
The Shreenath Food Hub, located strategically between Ahmedabad and Mumbai, provides EV drivers with a handy recharging alternative for long-distance journeys. Kempower's innovative DC charging technology enables dynamic power distribution over five ports, increasing charging efficiency and reducing wait times. The system is operated using the Kempower ChargEye cloud platform, which allows for efficient power distribution and simultaneous service of several cars.
ChargeZone CEO Kartikey Hariyani emphasised the impact of this collaboration: “Integrating Kempower’s advanced chargers into our supercharging network marks a major milestone for India’s EV ecosystem. With Kempower’s technology and WBG’s engineering expertise, we are delivering an enhanced charging experience, supporting the shift to high-capacity chargers, and building a dependable infrastructure for intercity and interstate travel.”
Alfredo Couturier, Managing Director of WBG, highlighted the shared commitment to addressing charging infrastructure challenges in India’s vast market. “ChargeZone’s focus on reliable, customer-centric services aligns perfectly with our goals. Together, with Kempower’s technology and our integration expertise, we aim to support commercial fleets and heavy-duty transportation, contributing to the decarbonisation of the transport sector.”
This launch represents a significant step in India’s journey toward sustainable transportation, underscoring the importance of reliable and efficient charging solutions in driving EV adoption.
