Electric vehicle manufacturer Omega Seiki unveiled its new M1KA 1.0 electric truck at the Bharat Mobility 2025 exhibition. Priced at ₹6,99,000, the truck is now available for pre-booking with an initial payment of ₹49,999, and deliveries are set to begin in April 2025. Alongside the M1KA 1.0, the company also introduced the M1KA 3.0 electric truck and the upgraded Stream City 2.0 electric passenger vehicle.
The electric truck market in India is witnessing rapid growth, driven by rising fuel costs, environmental concerns, and increasing demand for sustainable alternatives. Specifically, 1-tonne electric trucks are proving to be ideal for small businesses, last-mile deliveries, and urban logistics. With features like fast charging and a payload capacity of 500 kg, the M1KA 1.0 is designed to cater to these growing needs.
The truck comes with two fast-charging battery options: 10.24 kWh and 15 kWh, offering a range of 80 km and 120 km per charge, respectively. It also includes a 5-year or 1.5 lakh km warranty and affordable financing schemes, making it a practical and cost-effective choice for Indian businesses.
Speaking at the launch, Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of Omega Seiki Pvt. Ltd., said, "Our focus is on providing affordable, reliable, and durable electric trucks for Indian businesses rather than overloading vehicles with unnecessary features. The M1KA 1.0 is a significant step in electrifying India's commercial vehicle sector."
He also highlighted the introduction of M1KA 3.0, which features enhanced capabilities and a longer range, and Stream City 2.0, which combines advanced technology, modern design, and environmental benefits. Omega Seiki current manufacturing facility in Faridabad has an annual production capacity of 5,000 units, which is set to increase to 25,000 units by the end of 2025 with the opening of a new facility in Chakan, Pune. The company aims to strengthen its position in the Indian electric vehicle market and contribute to a cleaner, greener future.
