YatriKart, India's rapidly expanding "Retail-on-the-Go" convenience ecosystem, has raised an undisclosed investment from MMG Group, the Indian partner of global giants McDonald's and Coca-Cola. This strategic partnership values YatriKart at ₹100 crore, marking a significant milestone for the tech-driven transit retail startup.
The funding from MMG Group, known for its successful partnerships with major global brands, will help YatriKart strengthen its foothold in India's burgeoning transit retail market. The investment also paves the way for a planned $10 million venture capital funding round aimed at accelerating the company's growth.
Founded by Gaurav Rana and Shivangee Sharma, YatriKart operates a network of tech-enabled kiosks and stores designed to cater to the needs of travelers in transit. From metro hubs and railway stations to highways and airports, YatriKart’s smart kiosks offer an array of essential products and services, such as quick parcel drop-offs, bag deposits, micro-ATMs, and more. The company's model empowers small merchants by providing them with higher-margin growth opportunities, while also offering customers the convenience of essential services on the go.
With the latest funding, YatriKart plans to expand its presence significantly, targeting the deployment of over 5,000 kiosks across high-traffic transit points. The company will leverage its asset-light franchise models—FOCO (Franchise Owned Company Operated) and FOFO (Franchise Owned Franchise Operated)—to accelerate this expansion. Additionally, the company intends to enhance its technology infrastructure and optimize supply chains through its 'Quick Commerce for Transit' app.
“We are thrilled to partner with MMG Group, whose track record of building global brands in India will be invaluable as we expand and scale our technology-driven retail ecosystem,” said Gaurav Rana, Founder & CEO of YatriKart. “This investment aligns with our vision of creating a complete out-of-home convenience ecosystem that extends beyond just retail, into tech-enabled services at highways, hospitals, colleges, and more.”
Anant Agarwal, promoter of MMG Group, expressed strong confidence in YatriKart's potential. “YatriKart is positioning itself as India’s equivalent of Blinkit for transit services,” he said. “With its asset-light model and innovative use of technology, YatriKart is well-placed to disrupt the $21.7 billion transit retail market and capture a substantial share.”
YatriKart’s user-friendly consumer app allows travelers across Bharat to easily place orders for essential products and pick them up at their convenience, further enhancing the appeal of the company’s retail-on-the-go model.
The company’s efforts to bridge the gap in the transit retail space come at a time when convenience and technology-driven services are more in demand than ever. As travel and mobility continue to grow in India, YatriKart’s ability to provide seamless access to everyday essentials on the go positions it as a key player in reshaping retail for the modern traveler.
